Vermont Open Studio Weekend at Gallery 33

Please come visit our cooperative studio shared by six artists creating watercolors, oils, pastels, drawings, photographs and fiber arts. In downtown Woodstock on route 4 above Footprints.


 Open Saturday and Sunday 10 am to 5 pm.  And I'll be there for sure Saturday and Sunday afternoons!

Fertile Ground

Today from 4:30 to 6:00 pm is the opening reception for the Norman Williams Public Library's Community Gallery exhibit, "Fertile Ground".


My painting of irises was accepted into the show.  I hope you can stop by  this afternoon for the opening!

Yale Art Museum

On our way home from New York City a bit ago, we stayed overnight in Hamden, CT and after dropping our grand daughters off at school, went to the Yale Art Museum to see the current exhibition of James Whistler's work.

The show is mainly his etchings from his days in Paris, London and Venice.

But there are also a couple of his nocturnes painted along the Themes in London.  He is a master of these dark, mysterious works....


For this exhibit, the walls of the gallery are painted shades and tints of purple--an unusual choice that I found to work very well!  You can see a bit of the color surrounding the painting above....
